PALAVRA (Self-published 2023)

Inspired by the dual meanings of the word PALAVRA from the Turkish “untruthful, long, and empty talk” to the Latin “word” or “speech”, the book explores love, loss, and the metaphysics of longing.

The poems are typed directly onto dead foliage using a typewriter. With each strike of the keys, language is pressed into fragile organic matter, embedding words into the body of the leaf itself. As the material decays, the poems decay with it, binding word and flesh together as a single body, inseparable in their transformation.
